As the name already says this is a post about my world view. This world view is very uncommon but still a very plausible world view and I will explain it and also try to explain why I find it so plausible.
Basically I can answer the question “What is your world view?” with one simple and short sentence, namely “Time is not linear, but a circle that repeats itself and that has never started and will never end.” Now when someone would ask something like “And what leads you to this way of thinking?”, the answer gets much more complex. Here you have it:
I will have to begin with something completely different, which has to be said though for it to make sense. Have you ever wondered what matter is? We all learned in school that matter consists of Atoms (literally: Particles that cannot be divided). These Atoms can be divided into even smaller particles and maybe they can also be divided again. But do you think this could be done infinitely often? I do not think so. I think there are in fact smallest possible particles (who would actually deserve the name “atom”) and I think there are exactly two different sorts of them. Now what are those particles then? I think it is not only impossible to divide matter infinitely often but also to divide space infinitely often. One metre is 100 centimetres and so on, but I think at some point this is not possible anymore. Let us say the trillionth part of a cubic nanometre or so (this number is completely made up by me) cannot be divided anymore. Such a smallest unit of space is able to contain information. It can carry either the number 0 or the number 1 (or yes or no, or black or white, or whatever you want to call it). A smallest particle is nothing else than a smallest space unit containing information. Movement is nothing more than an exchange of information. Let us say there is a 1 particle next to 0 particle and all of a sudden the space unit containig 1 starts containing 0 and the space unit containing 0 starts to contain 1, then what happened is, that the 1 particle moved. This means that a particle is actually not a space unit containing information, but the information contained by the space unit itself. Yes, matter is nothing else than information.
What is the universe and how big is it? The universe is the sum of all these smallest space units. It cannot consist of infinitely many of those smallest space units, because infinite is no natural number, or rather no number at all. So the universe has a limited finite size, but still there is nothing outside the universe, because the universe is the only entity that exists. But what happens then, when something leaves the universe at one side? It cannot get out of it, because there is no such thing as “outside of it”. I think it would enter the universe at the other side at the same time as it leaves it at this side. It is like when you walk/fly along the equator, at the end you will get back to the begin, because it is a circle.
What is time and how big is it? Like with space there have to be also smallest units of time, like for example the trillionth part of a second (again this concrete value is totally made up). At every such a smallest unit of time the smallest units of space are mixed in a different way. Each combination of those space units leads to exactly one other at the next smallest unit of time. At some point in time there will have been all possible combinations used already and it starts anew. Time is infinite, but not infinitely big, exactly like space. Yes, time is a circle and repeats itself. It has never started and it will never end. And everything is predetermined and can only happen as it is supposed to happen, it has always and it will always. Determinism/Fate/Wyrd/God’s great plan, how ever you want to call it, it is real. I am writing this because I wrote it already trillions of years ago and because I will write it again in trillions of years or so.
It is an eternal circle, an eternal spinning wheel.
